Smes Play Crucial Role In Adding Value To Azerbaijan's Economy - Deputy Minister


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11. SMEs in Azerbaijan make a significant contribution to the creation of added value, Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister Anar Akhundov said at the first National Competitiveness Forum held in Baku, Trend reports.

"The private sector is emerging as a major economic force in Azerbaijan, and the significance of entrepreneurship is growing daily. Small and medium-sized businesses, which account for the great majority of commercial organizations in the nation today, are important for value creation, exports, employment, and investment. The nation's total number of current taxpayers as of July 1st was 778,000," he said.

The State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision and Consumer Market Control is involved in the preparation and implementation of state policy in the field of antimonopoly policy, public procurement, technical regulation, standardization, metrology, and consumer protection. The main mission of the service is to create conditions for free competition and effective protection of entrepreneurship, which ensures sustainable development of the country's economy.
