OIC Condemns Israeli Occupation Attacks Of UNRWA School In Gaza

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, July 8 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned, late Sunday, the continuous genocidal Israeli Occupation attacks, most recently, the attacks on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees' (UNRWA) affiliated school in Gaza.
In a statement, the Organization denounced the Israeli occupation's attacks on the UNRWA affiliated school housing thousands of Palestinian refugees in Nuseirat camp, in Gaza, killing and injuring many.
These continuous attacks, the Organization stated, are violations of international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and the orders issued by the International Court of Justice.
The Israeli occupation must be investigated, held accountable, and prosecuted for their war crimes in occupied Palestine, targeting United Nations affiliated organizations, institutions, and employees in medical and humanitarian sectors, added the Organization.
Not only does the Israeli occupation target UN institutions and affiliates, the Organization explained, it also deliberately targets displaced Palestinian civilians, hospitals, schools, and places of worship; areas which house thousands of people.
The Organization called for humanitarian and relief aid to enter Gaza, while calling international institutions and organizations to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its aggression towards Palestinians.
The Israeli occupation targeted the UNRWA affiliated the Al-Jaouni School which sheltered displaced people in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of 16 Palestinians and the injury of 50 others. (end)
