Turkmenistan To Boost Electricity Production In Lebap Region By 2025

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 7. Electricity production in the Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, will increase 1.4 times in 2025 compared to 2019, Trend reports.

According to official data, electricity production in the region in 2025 will amount to about 3 billion kWh.

In general, the government of Turkmenistan expects that in 2025 the total volume of electricity production in the country will increase significantly and reach 34.2 billion kWh.

Meanwhile, from January through May of this year, the Ministry of energy of Turkmenistan exceeded the production plan and completed work by 8.5 percent.

Such high rates in Turkmenistan make it possible to reliably supply industrial enterprises and settlements with electricity, as well as send a certain part of it abroad.

Countries such as Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan are among the consumers of electricity produced in the country.
