72 Drug Factories Destroyed In Farah: Police


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): During the course of past three months, 72 drug-processing factories were destroyed in western Farah province, provincial Police officials said on Saturday.

Farah Police Spokesman Maulvi Mohammad Nasim Badri made these statements today during a press conference.

The security personnel had a tough fight against the narcotics, poppy cultivation and drug-production and smuggling during the course of past three months, Badri said.

72 drug processing factories were destroyed and thousands of kilograms of different drugs were seized and destroyed.

According to Badri about 240 acres of poppy cultivation were also destroyed and 500 drug addicts were rehabilitated.

Badri added, during the same period of time, 248 individuals were arrested in connection with different crimes and a number of illegal arms were confiscated by security forces.
