Pegasus Airlines inaugurates direct flights between Ankara, Turkey, Dublin, Ireland


(MENAFN) Pegasus airlines has inaugurated direct flights between Ankara, Turkey, and Dublin, Ireland, as announced by airport operator TAV on Wednesday. The arrival of the inaugural flight at Ankara Esenboga Airport was marked with a traditional water cannon salute, symbolizing respect and celebration in the Aviation industry.

The new route will operate three times a week, specifically on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Nuray Demirer, General Manager of TAV Esenboga Airport, emphasized the significance of this new connection, stating that it enriches the portfolio of direct flights available from Ankara.

Ankara Esenboga Airport currently serves 77 destinations across 27 countries through collaborations with 23 airlines. In the first five months of 2024 alone, the airport witnessed a notable increase in international passengers, totaling 1.1 million—a 34 percent rise compared to the previous year. Overall, the total number of passengers, encompassing both domestic and international travelers, grew by 13 percent, reaching 4.9 million from January to May.

TAV Airports, the operator overseeing Esenboga Airport, offers comprehensive services across all aspects of airport operations and maintains a global presence with operations at 110 airports spanning 33 countries. The launch of the Ankara-Dublin route further solidifies TAV's commitment to expanding connectivity and facilitating travel between key international hubs.
