PHCC Celebrates Obtaining Canadian Diamond Accreditation

Doha: Primary health Care Corporation celebrated its 2024 accreditation Canada Diamond Level Status and People-Centered Care (PCC) Centre of Excellence Award.

The PHCC held a ceremony on this occasion in the presence of Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari, a number of senior officials in the health sector, and the Canadian Accreditation team.

The accreditation obtained by the institution is the highest distinction granted to health facilities that focus on the involvement of patients and families in healthcare processes. It is also considered the highest level and rank within the framework of the accreditation program, which is granted to institutions that are committed to the utmost degree and are characterized by high quality and monitoring of results, in addition to the use of evidence and best practices to improve services.

In addition, this title is a testimony to the PHCC's commitment to providing comprehensive and integrated health care that puts patients' needs first.

This accreditation places PHCC among the elite ranks of healthcare institutions globally, which have demonstrated excellence in key areas, including successfully launching initiatives that invite patients to become members of key committees, such as the ethics committee and the quality and patient safety committee, giving them the opportunity to participate in key decisions in the design and development of the service.

In her speech during the ceremony, Managing Director of the PHCC Dr. Maryam Abdul Malik noted the new achievement accomplished by the PHCC by obtaining the 2024 Accreditation Canada Diamond Level Status and People-Centered Care (PCC) Centre of Excellence award.

She pointed out that these prestigious awards and accreditations are evidence of the endless dedication shown by the leaders of the PHCC, its employees, patients, and partners, and their collective efforts to achieve the best services.

For her part, Executive Director of Quality and Patient Safety Directorate at PHCC Dr. Amal Al Ali said that this comprehensive evaluation from Accreditation Canada included field visits to all of the 31 PHCC affiliated health centers, in addition to the PHCC's main headquarters, where the evaluation team thoroughly reviewed PHCC's policies, procedures, and practices to ensure that it meets the standards and is consistent in providing the highest level of care while ensuring patient safety.
