Lithuania To Allocate 0.25% Of GDP For Defense Assistance To Ukraine


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The State Defense Council of Lithuania has decided to earmark at least 0.25% of its GDP for defense and security support to Ukraine.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced this on the social media platform X , Ukrinform reports.

“Today at the State Defense Council meeting, we agreed to allocate at least 0.25% of (Lithuania's – ed.) GDP for security and defense support to Ukraine,” Nausėda wrote.

He stressed that Lithuania will continue to stand firmly with Ukraine until victory, as it“will always support freedom”.

As reported in April, Lithuania's support for Ukraine at that time amounted to about one billion euros, including about 610 million in military aid.
