Iran achieves 13.5 percent increase in electricity generation in Raisi’s administration

(MENAFN) During the administration of the late President Ebrahim Raisi, Iran achieved a substantial 13.5 percent growth in electricity generation, surpassing many industrialized nations in output. According to the "Statistical Review of the Global Energy," Iran generated 382.9 terawatt-hours of electricity in 2023, marking a 4.3 percent increase compared to the previous year's 367.1 terawatt-hours.

This growth rate in 2023 was nearly double the global average, highlighting Iran's significant strides in enhancing its electricity production capabilities. Globally, total electricity generation reached over 29,924 terawatt-hours in 2023, reflecting a 2.5 percent increase from the previous year.

Iran's impressive electricity generation output in 2023 not only outpaced its own previous records but also exceeded that of several industrialized countries including the UK, Italy, and Spain. Additionally, Iran's electricity production surpassed that of key regional players such as Turkey, Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Thailand.

This achievement underscores Iran's commitment to expanding its energy infrastructure and enhancing electricity accessibility and reliability across the nation. The strategic advancements in electricity generation during President Raisi's tenure highlight Iran's growing capability in meeting domestic energy demands and positioning itself as a significant player in the global energy landscape.
