UN Expresses Deep Concern Over Escalation Between Israeli Occupation, Hezbollah

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK June 21 (KUNA) -- United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern on Friday over the escalation between the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Israeli occupation.
In a press statement from UN headquarters, Antonio Guterres described the escalation and the constant exchange of fires on Lebanon southern borders might lead to the spread of the war throughout the region.
The region's nations and the world can't afford another Gaza crisis in Lebanon.
Guterres points out that both sides should commit to fully implementing Security Council Resolution No (1701) and an immediate return to the cessation of hostilities.
The world should all be together in one voice to say stop the war, and there is no solution to military, Guterres said.
The UN Chief noted that he sees the only way to do this is to stop all military actions and have the UN do all it can to reach a peace agreement (end)
