Russian And North Korean Leaders Sign Strategic Agreement

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday, outlining mutual support in case of an external attack against Russia or North Korea.
Reportedly, this agreement marks the strongest ties between Moscow and Pyongyang since the Cold War.
The pact covers bilateral assistance in security, trade, investment, and cultural and humanitarian relations.
Following Putin's arrival in Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, after 24 years on Tuesday, June 18, Kim Jong Un hailed the commitments between the two countries as“the strongest pact,” pledging support for Russia amid its conflict in Ukraine. He described the agreement as“constructive, hopeful, and entirely peaceful.”
The Kremlin, in turn, stated that the newly signed document respects all fundamental principles of international law is not directed against any country, and aims to ensure greater stability in Northeast Asia.
Meanwhile, North Korea pledges to provide advanced missile technology to Russia, enhancing its defense capabilities against external threats.
Pyongyang agrees to supply Russia with strategic resources crucial for maintaining its military operations in Eastern Europe.
Joint military exercises are planned between Russian and North Korean forces to strengthen their defensive strategies against common adversaries.
In the aftermath of Putin's visit to Pyongyang, NATO expressed concerns over Russia's support for North Korea's missile and nuclear programs.
