Shmyhal Discusses Restoration Of Ukrainian Energy Facilities With Polish Parliament Speaker


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Marshal of the Polish Sejm Szymon Holownia to discuss the restoration of Ukrainian energy facilities.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this in a post on Telegram , Ukrinform reports.

“A productive meeting with Marshal of the Polish Sejm Szymon Holownia. We discussed the situation in the energy sector and the reconstruction of Ukraine energy facilities. I noted the effectiveness of the Ukrainian-Polish interconnector, which was updated last year. This adds to the reliability of the Ukrainian energy system as part of the European energy grid,” he wrote.

Shmyhal also spoke about plans to develop a decentralized energy grid.

"We are counting on Poland's support and assistance, as this will increase our defense against Russian missiles and drones," the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also noted that the parties had discussed bilateral infrastructure projects. Holownia assured that Poland would continue to support their implementation.

Shmyhal also thanked Poland for its participation in the Global Peace Summit and support for the Peace Formula points. He also thanked Poland for its support in countering Russian aggression, supporting European integration and opening negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

As Ukrinform reported, Poland has provided Ukraine with military aid worth almost $4 billion since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion.
