Shoukry To Participate In BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting In Russia

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has embarked on a visit to Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, to take part in the BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting on Sunday, June 9th, as announced by Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, Shoukry is scheduled to deliver two speeches across two sessions. The first session will delve into cooperation within the BRICS framework and broader international and regional matters. The second session will concentrate on potential cooperation formats with partner countries.

In addition to the formal sessions, the visit will encompass a series of bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of participating nations. The discussions will center on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as exchanging perspectives on pivotal international and regional issues. Of particular concern will be the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and the endeavors to enhance the delivery of humanitarian aid to the affected region.

Egypt's membership in the BRICS bloc, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates, officially commenced in January.
