
Over Half Of Construction Works At Azerbaijan's Lachin Airport Completed - Deputy Minister
He made this statement during a meeting of the working group onKhankendi, operating at the interdepartmental center of theCoordination Headquarters established to centrally resolve issuesin the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation.
Hummatov noted that following the“I State Program of ''GreatReturn'' to the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan liberatedfrom occupation”, implementation of such strategic projects as therestoration and construction of roads and railways, theconstruction of new airports, and telecommunication networks iscurrently underway in these territories.
To note, the construction of Lachin International Airport, thefoundation of which was laid in 2021, is scheduled to be completedin 2025. The length of the airport runway will be 3,000 meters, andthe width will be 60 meters. The airport is being built near thevillage of Gorchu at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea leveland will be one of the highest-altitude airports in post-Sovietspace.
