Turkmenistan To Expand LNG Infrastructure For Increased Supply


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 20. Turkmenistanis modernizing facilities for receiving, storing, and shippingliquefied natural gas (LNG) produced by the Turkmengaz StateConcern, Trend reports.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the government ofTurkmenistan, Batyr Amanov, at a meeting of the Cabinet ofMinisters.

According to him, in order to reliably supply the necessaryvolumes of products, the state is taking effective measures toreconstruct the relevant structures.

Amanov noted that the uninterrupted provision of thesefacilities with appropriate material and technical means currentlycontributes to improving the efficiency of their productionactivities.

In turn, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, afterhearing the report, stressed the importance of liquefied naturalgas production in the country and its reliable transportation toworld markets.

The Head of State approved the proposals and instructed theDeputy Prime Minister to carry out appropriate work to improve thefacilities for receiving, storing, and shipping this type ofproduct.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively investing in the developmentof its liquefied gas industry, as part of which the country ismodernizing its production facilities and introducing advancedtechnologies.

Recently, Amanov stated that from January through March of thisyear, the growth rate of liquefied natural gas production inTurkmenistan amounted to 9.4 percent compared to the first quarterof last year.
