(MENAFN- TimesNewswire ) The commemorative meeting marking the 110th anniversary of the founding of Jimei Schools was held in Jimei District of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on October 21, 2023.
More than 700 people attended the meeting, including alumni of Jimei Schools at home and abroad, descendants of Tan Kah Kee, and representatives of faculty members and students of Jimei Schools.
Starting in 1913, Tan Kah Kee, a patriotic overseas Chinese business pioneer and philanthropist, funded construction of a dozen schools and institutions in his hometown Jimei Village, which were known as Jimei School Village.
