Beach Water Polo Championship Returns At Old Doha Port

Doha, Qatar: The Old Doha Port announced that the Beach Water Polo Championship for the fall returns in its second edition.

Organised by the Qatar Swimming Association, this aquatic competition is scheduled to take place from October 26 to 28.

AlBandar at the Old Doha Port will be the backdrop for this championship, welcoming participants from both residents and non-residents of Qatar. Teams looking to be part of the tournament must register with a minimum of five players, and championship is scheduled to kick-off from 4pm to 7pm daily.

The championship promises more than just glory; the victors will be awarded a coveted championship cup, while medals will be given to the top three places. Additionally, teams that secure one of the top three spots will also receive prizes.

According Qatar Swimming Association, the match schedule, crucial for participants and fans alike, will be meticulously crafted. It will be devised after assessing the number of teams in contention, conducting the all-important draw, and convening a technical meeting scheduled for Monday, October 23.

Those eager to take the plunge into this exhilarating competition can secure their place by registering at qatarswimming.

Deadline for applications is tomorrow, October 22.

Meanwhile, happening today, October 21, at the Mina District, also at the Old Doha Port is the Old Doha Port Qatari Triathlon Team (QTRI) Aquathlon. The men-only competition race starts from 6am. It has two categories: Special needs category – community which is 2.5km run, 1k swim and 2.5km run; and the youth category for 11 to 14 years old which is composed of 300m swim, and 2km run.

There are about 130 people participating in this competition. The awarding ceremony for the competition will be at 9am.
