Two Dead, One Injured After Speeding Bus Hits Scooters In Delhi


(MENAFN- IANS) New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) In a tragic incident, two men died while another sustained injuries after their scooters were hit by a speeding in Delhi on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Hitesh Goswami (39), a resident of Rohini, and Kishan (40), a resident of Haiderpur.

The Police said that the injured - identified as Pravesh - is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

“Pravesh works as a manager in a Pharmaceutical company, while Goswami used to work as a medical representative in the same organisation. Kishan used to work as a private driver and they all were connected to each other,” an officer said.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 11.45 a.m. on Wednesday in northwest Delhi's Keshav Puram area.

During initial probe, the police found that the hit two scooters.

“Pravesh was riding one of the scooters with Goswami as the pillion rider. Krishan was on another scooter,” the officer said.

“The post-mortem of the deceased has been conducted, and a case under Sections 279 (rash driving), 304A (causing death by negligence) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered,” said the official.

“We have arrested the driver of the offending vehicle, who has been identified as Amit Kumar (27),” the officer added.
