Education Ministry Launches Back-To-School Campaign Ahead Of New Academic Year

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), in cooperation with Mowasalat (Karwa), launched on Thursday its back-to-school campaign under the theme 'My School is My Second Home'.

The campaign is being held at Mall of Qatar from August 24-29 on the following dates:

- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (4 pm to 9 pm)

- Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday (3 pm to 8 pm)

The campaign offers programs and varirecreational activities that prepare students for the learning environments in schools.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), MOEHE's Director of Public Relations and Communication Department, Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi said the campaign aims to prepare students, especially those in the primary and early childhood stages, for the new academic year, through a variety of educational and purposeful activities.

Al Mohannadi highlighted the campaign's small media activity, a mental activity based on asking variquestions in different subjects to retrieve essential information and prepare children and mentally activating them to return to learning with their classmates.

There is also the 'Read My Story' activity, which aims to develop children's linguistic and expressive abilities and encourage them to read, she added.

Director of Karwa Academy, Faisal Al Nuaimi told QNA said that both sides organize this campaign ahead of each new academic year, adding that school drivers were trained on school loading and unloading as well as building proper relations with children, school administration and supervisors.

Al Nuaimi added that thousands of school buses carry a total of 60,000 students daily.
