Somali President Vows To Wipe Out Terrorism


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- Somali President Hassan sheikh Mohamud has affirmed his resolve to press ahead with his campaign to wipe out terrorism and corruption in his country.
The Somali news agency, Sonna, said in a report on Friday that the president was addressing a group of citizens regarding the government performance and the ongoing war against terrorists.
The greatest challenge facing Somalia is terrorism that has claimed thousands of lives and has become a hurdle obstructing development, he said, praising sacrifices of the Somali regular forces and residents of liberated regions.
He indicated that the regions that have been cleansed of terrorism are witnessing security and stability.
The Somali military often reports about operations and raids targeting Al-Shabab militants. (end)
