Jusour Helps Expat Students Find Jobs, Extend Visa

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour) is supporting expatriate students pursuing their higher studies in Qatar in getting jobs.

Under its Sahem programme, Jusour is providing two services - part-time work opportunities and visa extension - for the targeted students. The services are available through Jusour website ( ).

“On Jusour platform we offered two services under Sahem programme for students basically. First service is to provide part time job to students during their study,” said, Executive Director of Operations and Institutional Support at Jusour, Ibrahim Abdullah Al Mulla.

Speaking to Qatar TV recently, he said that the second service is extending the residential permit of graduates, enabling them to get suitable jobs and join the job market.

So far, he said:“These two services are available. The targeted students can access the service on Jusour platform to find a job and the companies can also access the system to offer the jobs.”

Jusour delivers a suite of services under multiple programmes targeting job seekers and employers seeking access to and participation in Qatar's labour market.

“There are four main programmes. Sahem is one these programmes which aims at involving community members in the economic development of the country. We launched two services under the programme recently,” said Al Mulla.

“Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour) with members from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Chamber, Al Jazeera Media Network, Qatar Airways and Qatar University,” said Al Mulla.

Jusour provides part-time work opportunities for students and other non-economically active segments of the population, according to the website of the company. Programme users will be eligible to work for only one employer following certain conditions. The candidates should be currently studying at a Qatar-based university or higher education institution.

They should be legal residents in Qatar as exchange students from universities outside of Qatar are not eligible for the programme.

Sahem Graduating Student Visa Extension programme aims to support graduating students in Qatar by offering them the opportunity to gain a 1-year visa extension in Qatar while looking for jobs.

Candidates can apply for the visa extension directly on the Jusour platform with visa extensions issued directly by the Ministry of Interior.

Candidates for this programme must meet the following criteria: recently graduated student from a Qatar-based university or higher education institution, be legal residents in Qatar holding university/higher education institution sponsorship, and be over 18 and up to 28 years old.

Jusour is working with its partners to develop employment programmes using platform technology solutions to identify distinguishing professional skills and experiences, referencing international best practices to consider the rights of all parties, and recognising the importance of robust and effective legislation to address market challenges.
