Bangladesh assures to purchase Russian oil if offered at reasonable price

(MENAFN) Bangladesh is going to carry on purchasing Russian oil if it’s offered at a reasonable rate in spite of worries around provoking the West as the South Asian nation are seeking to protect energy materials, Premier sheikh Hasina stated during the previous week.

Product rates, in addition to oil, have soared internationally during 2022 as Dhaka is dealing with hurdles to reserve decreasing foreign currency reserves and resurface its instable economy.

When enquired around the potential of continuing to purchase Russian oil throughout the Qatar Economic Forum, Hasina declared that if the commodity is offered “at an affordable price, of course we will buy it. Why not?”

She stated that Bangladesh sustains a policy of welcoming affairs with all nations and is not going to take sides to sanction Russia due to its army attack against Ukraine, also saying that the nation “will never play a partisan role in the world.”
