(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Country's biggest private carrier US-Bangla Airlines is sending the second batch of 11 cadet pilots to Florida, the United States of America for higher flight training at its own cost on May 30.
The move is part of the airline's efforts to develop quality pilots to meet the growing demand of aviators as air travel rises exponentially both domestically and globally.
Earlier, in the first phase, US-Bangla Airlines sent 10 cadet pilots on May 2 to the USA and those cadets are currently training at the Epic Flying Academy, Smyrna Beach, Florida.
In continuation, the second batch of the remaining 11 cadets will be flying to the USA for the same purpose on May 30.
After completing the advanced flight training course, they will get the Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot License (FAA CPL) and join US-Bangla Airlines as professional pilots.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali commended US Bangla Airlines' initiative to send trainee pilots to the United States of America for higher flight training saying it will undoubtedly play a crucial role in the development of Bangladesh's aviation sector.

“Bangladesh's aviation sector will grow threefold in the next 15 years. To sustain this remarkable growth trajectory in the aviation sector and contribute to the country's economy, we will require an increasing number of trained and skilled professionals at every level of the industry."
The State Minister said this while addressing a programme organised on the occasion of sending the cadet pilots by US Bangla Airlines to the USA for further flight training at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on May 28.
He further emphasised the importance of private stakeholders collaborating with the government to advance the country's aviation industry.
Mainul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of US-Bangla Group also spoke on the occasion.
In his address, the Group CEO said,“US-Bangla Airlines will not stop sending skilled manpower for advanced training here. Next, we will be sending engineers, cabin-crew, and even ground staff abroad to complete further training in an effort to grow expert human resource and build a complete and safe quality aviation system.”
Earlier, in 2022, US-Bangla Airlines undertook plans to recruit cadet pilots and send them abroad for further training in an effort to meet the demand for additional pilots in the country.
As part of the move, 21 students were selected from around 6,500 participants from May to July, 2022 with the help of Human Resource experts of Bangladesh Air Force.
On May 30, the airline will be done sending all the cadet pilots to the state-of-the-art flying academy in Florida, the USA for further flight training.
Air Commodore Sadikur Rahman Chowdhury, Member of Planning and Operations, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh; Mofizur Rahman, Secretary-General of Aviation Operators Association of Bangladesh; and Kamrul Islam, General Manager of Public Relations, US-Bangla Airlines were also present on the occasion, among others.
