MP's new industrial area in Sector 7 Pithampur reserves plot for women Indore, May 4 (KNN) Women industrialists will have reserved space in the new industrial area Sector 7 in Pithampur developed by Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC).
This move aims to encourage participation of women in industries, reported TOI.
In the state of Madhya Pradesh this will be the first of its kind industrial belt to have reserved space for women entrepreneurs.
The industrial area coming up on more than 2000 hectare in Pithampur will have industrial, residential and commercial plots.
It will have a logistic park, a cluster for footwear industry and plots for micro, small & medium enterprises (MSME) and women entrepreneurs.
MPIDC executive director Pratul Sinha said,“Sector 7 industrial belt will have plots for women entrepreneurs. This is first time when any industrial belt has kept a provision to keep plots for women entrepreneurs. This move will give a platform to businesswomen and encourage their participation.”
Around 50 acre is likely to be reserved for businesswomen in Sector 7.
“We are in talks with some women entrepreneurs and plan to allocate some plots in the industrial belt in May,” Sinha said.
MPIDC is planning to allot industrial plots to around 6 industrialists, including women industrialists this month.
