Nicholas Lloyd Webber Passes Away at 43

(MENAFN) Nicholas Lloyd Webber, a renowned and Grammy-nominated composer, record producer, and the eldest son of the legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, passed away on Saturday in England after battling gastric cancer and pneumonia. He was only 43 years old. In a statement shared by a representative, the 75-year-old Andrew Lloyd Webber expressed his family's deep sorrow, saying that "his whole family is gathered together, and we are all totally bereft. Thank you for all your thoughts during this difficult time."

Nicholas breathed his last at a hospital in the south-central English town of Basingstoke, where he had been receiving treatment for his illness. His father, who had been busy with the Broadway opening of his latest musical "Bad Cinderella," had rushed to his son's side with other family members.

Nicholas was a talented musician and had gained recognition for his work on several projects, including the BBC One's "Love, Lies and Records," which was based on the book "The Little Prince." He was also involved in his father's latest musical "Cinderella" in 2021, which earned him a Grammy nomination for the best musical theater album.

Nicholas was born to Andrew Lloyd Webber and his first wife, Sarah Hugill, who was also the mother of his older sister, Imogen. The senior Webber has four other children, and his family is now mourning the loss of Nicholas, who was a gifted and beloved member of their family.
