Saudi Arabia is getting ready for its second Foundation Day festivities
(MENAFN) Students throughout the kingdom's schools celebrated the day's founding on Monday by dressing in traditional Saudi attire. On Wednesday's Founders Day, which is a holiday, bakeries are producing unique cakes.
Tala Hasan, a native of Jeddah, claimed that “my girls wore the jalabiya — the long Saudi dress and we took some customised Founding Day cupcakes for the class.” Adding “munch Bakery is doing great ones.”
On February 22, the Saudi state celebrates its founding on Founder Day.Staff from the public and business sectors are going to be off work on this, its second year. Also, on February 23, all public sector workers are off, followed by a two-day weekend.
The focal point of celebrations will be landmarks around the kingdom. Fatima Khan, a Canadian who resides in Riyadh, remarked that “expats in the kingdom are excited to witness the kingdom's change and progress."
On the other hand, traditional Saudi music has been playing in public places like malls while special deals are being advertised and Founder Day mementos like flags and other items are being sold in stores.
