(MENAFN) A month after an assault on her husband Paul, Nancy Pelosi, a former speaker of the United States House of Representatives, summoned priests to perform an exorcism at her house in November, according to her daughter, who spoke to the New York Times on Sunday. According to Alexandra Pelosi, her mother felt "really guilty" about the harm done to her husband.
The younger Pelosi claimed that the attack "weighed really heavy on her soul," implying that it "really broke" the career politician. “Over Thanksgiving, she had priests coming, trying to have an exorcism of the house and having prayer services.”
David DePape, a Canadian illegal immigrant who attacked Paul Pelosi, is added to have been seeking for Nancy, who wasn't at home, when he discovered Paul dozing off in a bedroom. DePape allegedly hit Pelosi with the hammer after being ordered to drop it by police when they discovered the two fighting over it, according to the police.
On Sunday, Nancy Pelosi told CNN's Chris Wallace that she was "very sad" about the attack on her husband, “because [DePape] was searching for me, and my dear husband, who’s not even that political, actually, paid the price.”
