A shooting at a Sunday night, November 6 dance event with culecos in San Miguelito left one person dead and three injured, one of them a minor in serious condition.

According to the first reports of the National Police, everything was developing normally until a disagreement between several individuals triggered a fight, bringing out a firearm with which one of those involved and other people were shot triggering panic among the hundreds at the event as they rushed for the doors.

The injured were transferred to the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital, where doctors ruled the death of a man of approximately 34 years.

Commissioner Seferino Villarreal, national director of Citizen Security, said that prior to the event, an attempt was made to cancel it because the organization did not have the respective documentation or the necessary permits to carry out the dancing activity with culecos.

'We had a dialogue with local authorities such as the Ministry of Health, the Justice of the Peace, and the mayor of San Miguelito to prevent the activity from taking place, but nothing
could do what was necessary to stop this unfortunate event,' said Villarreal
