British DJ Tim Westwood is facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, according to a report by the Guardian and BBC.

The report says the broadcaster, known for championing hip-hop, is accused by women who say he abused his position in the music industry to exploit them.

The 64-year-old who currently works at Capital Xtra, a station in London, is accused of predatory and unwanted sexual behavior and touching.

According to the BBC, the incidents occurred between 1992 and 2017.

His career started in the late 1970s and early 1980s when he helped set up sound systems in clubs in north west London, taking opportunities to work as a DJ, and then warming up for David Rodigan. At the time, he played reggae and jazz-funk.

Mr. Westwood strenuously denies the allegations.
