Patrol Vehicles Fitted With Modern Devices To Monitor Overloaded Trucks

Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic has revealed that modern devices will be installed to monitor the weight of trucks during movement, and violation will be recorded incase of overloading trucks.

First Lieutenant Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Mansoori, an officer in the Traffic Planning Department, said that apart from the 11 trucks weighing stations that are distributed across the highways, there will be patrols that use an advanced monitoring system which will be able to calculate the weight on trucks as they move and seize violators.

Speaking to Qatar Radio, he pointed out that in cooperation with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), a new system will be activated to measure the trucks' weight during movement, through smart devices, with the aim of preserving roads from damage and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.
