Doha: CUC Ulster University celebrated the inauguration of the new campus and graduation ceremony of the Class of 2022 at Excellence Tower, West Bay, recently.

Addressing the event, UK Ambassador to Qatar, H E Jon Wilks CMG, highlighted the success of the partnership between CUC and Ulster University, a UK education institution.

He said:“I always find that joining celebrations of successful projects, particularly in the education sector, is one of the most uplifting and inspirational things that I get to do in my job. We know through the success of this project and other projects that there is demand for obtaining UK qualifications from educational institutions based in Qatar. To see these partnerships flourish, I think that is going to be really important going forward. I'm so glad that not only has this project been successful, but I think it provides great encouragement to others as well to show what can be done and what can be achieved.”

He added,“An MoU earlier this year between the Government of Qatar and the Government of UK was signed to strengthen ties around educational developments. The Secretary of State for Education came to visit in June and I think it is incredibly good news and is part of a very positive context to what we're celebrating here today.”

Dr. Khalid Al Ali, Acting Undersecretary for Higher Education, and the Director of Higher Education Institutional Affairs in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar, commended the partnership between CUC and Ulster University.

He said:“This university is part of the private sector and they are doing amazing work by educating the children of this country and the residents in this land.

They are choosing programmes that are high in demand for the people living here. Of course, our role is to ensure the high quality of education and the standards to be the same as Ulster University, and always ensure that the programme offerings meet the needs of the country and provide access to those striving to obtain higher education qualifications.”

CUC in partnership with Ulster University celebrated the Class of 2022 during a grand graduation ceremony on September 24.
