Kyrgyzstan's Ministry Of Agriculture Proposes To Introduce Temporary Ban On Wheat Export

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Agriculture has proposed to introduce a temporary ban on the export of wheat outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Trend reports via Ministry of Agriculture.

The Ministry of Agriculture has submitted a draft resolution“On the introduction of a temporary ban on the export of certain types of agricultural goods (wheat and meslin) from Kyrgyzstan” except for the cases of re-export, transit, as well as humanitarian assistance provided by the Cabinet of Ministers outside the customs territory EAEU.

The document states that the wheat export ban will be in force for six months.

Meanwhile, as of July 23, 2022 the wheat harvest in Kyrgyzstan reached 340,200 tons, which is a twofold increase compared to the same period of 2021 (169,300 tons).
