Ukraine Army Repulses Enemy Assaults On Vuhlehirska TPP, Invaders Suffer Losses


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian troops attempted to storm the area of Vuhlehirska Thermal Power plant (TPP) from different directions but again failed and suffered losses.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the armed forces of Ukraine on facebook , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As of 06:00 p.m., July 23, 2022, the situation remained rather unchanged in the Volyn, Polissia and Siverskyi directions. Russian troops opened fire on the village of Starykove, Sumy Region. Air reconnaissance with unmanned aerial vehicles continues in the border areas of Chernihiv Region and Sumy Region.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian invaders continue to use all available means to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing deep into the temporarily occupied areas.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian occupiers used cannon and rocket artillery to open fire near such settlements as Kharkiv, Ruski Tyshky, Cherkaski Tyshky, Bazaliivka, Husarivka, Ruska Lozova, Udy, Malynivka and others. The enemy launched an air strike near Verkhnii Saltiv.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian troops launched artillery strikes near Dibrovne, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Nova Dmytrivka and other settlements. Near Bohorodychne, enemy reconnaissance groups tried to reveal weak spots in the defense of Ukrainian forces but were eliminated.

In the Donetsk direction, Russian invaders continue to focus efforts on the Kramatorsk and Bakhmut directions, and make continuous attempts to gain control over Vuhlehirska TPP.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian occupiers opened fire near Verkhniokamianske, Riznykivka, Zakitne, Hryhorivka, Vyimka and Zvanivka. The enemy launched an air strike near Spirne.

“With assault operations from different directions, the enemy attempted to improve their tactical position near Verkhniokamianske. Ukrainian defenders met the enemy with surprise concentrated fire and inflicted significant losses. Russian occupiers retreated in panic,” the General Staff noted.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops are attempting to create favorable conditions in order to continue the offensive on Bakhmut. The enemy used tanks, cannon and rocket artillery to open fire on Ukrainian positions near Travneve, Semyhiria, Rozdolivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bilohorivka and other settlements. Russian invaders launched air strikes on Pokrovske and Novoluhanske.

Russian troops again tried to storm the area of Vuhlehirska TPP. They had no success, suffered losses and retreated.

Enemy reconnaissance groups attempted to reveal weak spots in the defense of Ukrainian forces in the direction of Soledar and Pokrovske. They were revealed and neutralized.

In the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russian troops consistently opened fire on civilian and military infrastructure near Novobakhmutivka, Pisky, Opytne, Vodiane, Shevchenko, Mala Tokmachka, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, Bilohiria and other settlements. The enemy launched air strikes near Krasnohorivka and Kamianka.

In the Southern Bug direction, Russian occupiers are focusing efforts to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing. The enemy is actively using unmanned aerial vehicles to conduct air reconnaissance. Mutual shelling with tanks, cannon and rocket artillery is underway all over the contact line.

According to the General Staff, Ukraine's Defense Forces are inflicting losses on the enemy across all directions, where hostilities are underway, and are ready for any changes in the operational situation. Cases of desertion and rebellion against the command are recorded among Russian units more and more often.
