Tesla recalls more than 23K Cybertruck amid safety concerns

(MENAFN) The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States announced that Tesla will recall 11,688 Cybertruck electric trucks due to a potential malfunction in the windshield wipers that may reduce visibility, increasing the risk of collisions. In a separate note, the NHTSA also indicated that Tesla will recall an additional 11,383 units of its pickup trucks. This recall addresses the improper installation of trunk lid components, which could detach and pose a danger to vehicles following behind.

This latest recall adds to Tesla's recent challenges with the Cybertruck. In April, the company recalled nearly 4,000 units to address a throttle issue that could become loose and get stuck. These recurring issues represent significant setbacks for the Cybertruck, which is slated to begin commercial production next year. Notably, Tesla has not yet disclosed the number of Cybertrucks delivered to consumers in its quarterly report on deliveries and production.

These recalls highlight ongoing safety concerns and production challenges for Tesla as it prepares to launch the Cybertruck commercially. The company is under scrutiny to ensure the reliability and safety of its vehicles, especially with the highly anticipated release of the Cybertruck on the horizon.
