At least four people murdered in explosion in Colombia


(MENAFN) The Colombian authorities confirmed on Friday that an explosion killed at least four persons in the Colombian town of Cartagena del Chaira in the department of Caqueta.

According to Mayor of Cartagena del Chaira Edilberto Molina Hernandez, "at approximately 10:30 this morning, there was an explosion, a terrorist attack against a Police patrol that was circulating in the sector. The victims were civilians traveling in a motorcar and on motorcycles."

"The cowardly attack (...) which claimed the lives of four people, including a minor, is an attack against all Colombians," Defense Minister Diego Molano published a tweet.

A driver, a mother, and a three-year-old kid were killed, while a 57-year-old lady died as a result of her injuries.

According to officials, two persons were injured and were brought to neighboring medical clinics.
