Palestinian investigation: Shireen Abu Akleh was directly aimed at by Israeli gunman
(MENAFN) Expert Palestinian reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was assassinated by an armor-piercing missile fired directly at her head by an Israeli gunman, on the words of Palestinian lawyer general Akram Al-Khatib.
Al-Khatib published the information according to the Public Prosecution’s report on the assassination of Abu Akleh at a news meeting in Ramallah city.
He added "An Israeli sniper directly fired a bullet at Abu Akleh’s head while she was trying to escape, although she was wearing a helmet and a vest that was clearly marked with the word ‘PRESS.’”
Al-Khatib also said that other reporters who were with Abu Akleh were as well "deliberately" aimed at by gunfire.
He went on to state the shot that assassinated the Palestinian reporter had general and specific markings that is similar to a Mini Ruger semi-automatic sniper gun.
