WHO: Another infection case in east African country


(MENAFN) In Mozambique, it was confirmed a polio case following the virus was found in an individual locating in the northeastern Tete area, strikes to be the first poliovirus case in the nation within around 30 years, as reported by the World health Organization (WHO).

WHO announced that this case remarks to be the second one of poliovirus in southern Africa in 2022 after an epidemic in Malawi three months ago, was detected in the kid who started to have signs and symptoms of paralysis at the end of two months earlier.

Matshidiso Moeti, WHO's regional executive for Africa, stated, "The detection of another case of wild poliovirus in Africa is greatly concerning ... It shows how dangerous this virus is and how quickly it can spread.”
