Kazma, Salmiya Vie For Amir Cup Title On Monday


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 15 (KUNA) -- Kazma Sporting Club faces off on Monday against Salmiya Sporting Club for the honor of winning the Amir's Cup 60th edition, on Jaber International Stadium.
The two teams are vying for the title as Kazma SC has won it only seven times, the last in 2011 and Salmiya SC only twice more than 20 years ago.
It has been decided to cancel that the Fahaheel and Al-Nasr Sporting Clubs game meant to determine third and fourth place as the country announced period of official mourning for the passing of Emirati President Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nuhayan.
The Amir's championship was first launched in the sporting season of (1961-1962), with Al-Qadsiya and Al-Arabi Sporting Clubs are reigning champions of 16 wins, whereas Kuwait SC comes second with 15 wins. (end)
