Azerbaijan Tightening Requirements For Construction Activities In Shusha

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. Requirements for
construction, architectural and urban planning activities in
Azerbaijan's Shusha city [liberated from Armenian occupation in the
2020 Second Karabakh War] are being tightened, Trend reports.
In this regard, a bill on amendments to the law 'On cultural
capital of Azerbaijan – Shusha city' has been discussed at a
plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
According to the amendments, if an archaeological monument is
discovered during construction, restoration, repair, cleaning,
landscaping, maintenance, or any other work in the city, these
works must be immediately suspended with the notification of Shusha
City State Reserve, which is responsible to make a decision to
continue the works.
The bill was put to a vote and after discussions adopted in the
second reading.
