BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. An event dedicated
to the transfer of beekeeping farms to pastures of Azerbaijan's
Gubadli district [liberated from Armenian occupation in the 2020
second Karabakh war] was held in Nasimi village of Sabirabad
district, the Ministry of Agriculture told Trend .
According to the ministry, the transfer is carried out on the
basis of requests from Gubadli-born farmers, and a list of them has
been prepared by the ministry.
The ministry said that the beekeepers were previously involved
in trainings organized by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine
Action. During the trainings, the farmers were introduced to the
rules of conduct in areas contaminated by mines and unexploded
ordnances.
The event in the village of Nasimi was attended by
representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the head of the
Baku office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency
(TIKA) Fatih Yilmaz, the adviser on agriculture at the Turkish
embassy Hakan Galender, the leadership of the Gubadli District
Executive Power, the chairman of the Association of Beekeepers of
Azerbaijan Badraddin Hasratov, and the head of the Association of
Professional Beekeepers Elkhan Alakbarov.
Eldar Hasanov, head of the livestock organization and monitoring
department of the Ministry of Agriculture, noted at the event that
a pilot project to transfer beekeeping and sheep farms to the
pastures of the liberated Kalbajar and Lachin districts has been
successfully completed.
According to him, after analyzing the results of the project,
the lands of the Gubadli district were added to the list of
pastures to which beekeeping farms will be resettled this year.
Speaking at the event, Yilmaz noted that the Turkish agency is
implementing projects in the field of agriculture in Azerbaijan,
and within their framework, technical support was provided to
beekeeping farms in various regions of the country.
Galender said that cooperation with Azerbaijan in the agrarian
sector is developing in all directions and congratulated the
natives of Gubadli on the transfer of their beekeeping farms to
their home pastures.
This year, 38 bee farms are planned to be transferred to the
Gubadli district. In total, 2,207 bee colonies will be resettled to
Gubadli pastures, added the ministry.
