President of India arrives in Turkmenistan on first-ever visit

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind arrived to Turkmenistan's
capital Ashgabat on the first-ever visit in the history of
bilateral relations on Friday, the Turkmenistan State News Agency
said, Trend reports citing TASS .
He will hold talks with Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov
on Saturday to discuss a broad range of issues. The two leaders
will also sign a package of documents, aimed at intensifying
contacts in many spheres.
Kovind and Berdymukhamedov shook hands during the official
welcoming ceremony on Friday.
The negotiations are expected to give a powerful impetus to
bilateral relations and take the bilateral dialogue to a new level,
the agency reported.
The first-ever visit of the president of India to Turkmenistan
is held on the year of the 30th anniversary of establishing
bilateral diplomatic relations.
