Russia contemplates Bitcoin as payment method for its crude exports

(MENAFN) As per a politician of a high rank, Russia is contemplating taking Bitcoin as a payment method for its oil and gas exports.

According to Pavel Zavalny, "friendly" nations may be permitted to buy using cryptocurrencies or national currency.

Previously this week, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he would like "unfriendly" nations to purchase Russian gas in rubles.

The action is thought to be intended to strengthen the Russian ruble, which has declined by over 20 percent of its worth in 2022.

Penalties implemented by the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union in response to the assault on Ukraine have exerted pressure on Russia's ruble and accelerated its living costs.
