UAE - Abdullah bin Salem witnesses closing of Sharjah Theater Days

SHARJAH, 25th March, 2022 (WAM) -- Under the patronage of His Highness sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, witnessed the closing ceremony of the 31st session of Sharjah Theater Days, which was held on Friday evening at the Culture Palace.

The ceremony began with the report of the jury presented by Asmahan Tawfiq, chairperson of the committee, in which she thanked His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah for his patronage of the theater, and for His Highness's continuous support for the Sharjah Theatrical Days.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi then honoured the winners of the Sharjah Theater Days Awards in its 31st session, where the play 'Rahal Al Nahar' by the Sharjah National Theater won the award for the best integrated theatrical performance.

The artist Mohamed Al-Amri won the award for the best theater direction for the play 'Rahal Al Nahar', while the award for the best playwriting went to the writer Ismail Abdullah for the play 'Back Streets'.

The artist Jamal Al-Sumaiti won the award for the best actor in a first role for his role in the play 'The Qardan Prison', while the artist, as Muhammad, won the award for the best actress in a first role, for her role in the play 'Rahal Al Nahar'.

The artist Khalifa Nasser won the award for the best actor in a second role for the play 'Ashoufak', and the artist Abeer Al Jasmi won the award for the best actress in a second role for her role in the play 'Sejen Al Qardan'.

The artist Obaid Al Balushi won the Best Promising Actor Award for his role in the play 'Gharb', while the actress Amna Fahd Issa won the Best Promising Actress Award for her role in the play 'Gharb'.

For the rest of the Sharjah Theater Awards in its 31st session, the artist Walid Omran Al-Jallaf won the award for the best decor for the play 'The Day Goes', and the award for the best lighting was won by the artist Majid Al-Muaini for the play 'The Day is gone,' while the award for the best sound and musical effects was won by the artist Ibrahim Al-Amiri for The play 'The Day Has Gone'.

Actress Basma Mubarak won the Best Make-up Award for the play 'A Brilliant Without Colors', and the Best Costume Award was won by Mohamed Al-Amri for the play 'The Day Is Gone'.

The artist Muhannad Karim won the award for theatrical artist who is not a citizen of the state, for his play 'Sahel Al-Tin', while the artist Hassan Ragab won the special jury award for directing the play 'Ashoufak'.

The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah honoured the winners of the Sharjah Award for Playwriting (theatrical texts for adults), which were won by the Omani writer Osama bin Zayed Al-Shaqsy for his theatrical text 'Playing on the Edge of Chess', the writer Badr Saeed Al-Hamdani for his theatrical text 'Butterflies', and the Saudi writer Yasser bin Yahya on his theatrical text 'The Legend of the Maqam'.
