Javid Basharat, Afghanistan's third UFC fighter, defeated his American rival in his first UFC fight night.

This is his first competition at the world's largest mixed martial arts organization.

“It feels great. It feels like the preparation I've put in really helped me out in this fight. I had the best corner, the best team, best preparation and I'm just happy I got the win,” Basharat said to the media in his post-fight scrum.

Basharat had requested to walk out with the flag of Afghanistan where he is from originally. His request, however, was denied by the UFC and he was not given a reason as to why.

Basharat is twenty-six years old. He has entered the cage eleven times and has been successful in all competitions.

It was his 12th finish in his fighting career and is still yet to defeat.

Besharat is the third Afghan athlete to compete in the world's largest wrestling organization, after Bahadorzadeh and Nusrat Haghparast.

Currently, Nusrat Haghparast and Javid Besharat are fighting in this organization.
