Jordan - King receives cables on 60th birthday

Amman, Jan. 29 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah has received cables of well wishes on his 60th birthday, which falls on Sunday, 30 January, from heads of state and government.
King Abdullah received similar cables from senior officials and officers agencies, and representatives of civil society organisations.
The senders highlighted His Majesty's ongoing efforts to advance Jordan, noting that the country has begun its second centennial with political, economic, and administrative modernisation, in line with the King's vision to fulfil the aspirations of Jordanians and move towards further progress.
They noted Jordan's pivotal regional and international role under His Majesty's leadership, stressing his commitment to advancing Arab and Islamic causes, and to safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, under the Hashemite Custodianship.
