Expert Turkish actress Fatma Girik passes away


(MENAFN) Expert Turkish film and television actress Fatma Girik, who is 79 years old, passed away on Monday.

Istanbul's Sisli region Mayor Muammer Keskin in a shared Twitter post stated the passing of the veteran actress, who was born in Istanbul in 1942.

The actress is famous for her roles in cult Turkish shows, like 1981’s Kanli Nigar (Bloody Mary) and 1962's Yilanlarin Ocu (Revenge of the Snakes) and in many TV programs, and took part of active politics and was mayor of Sisli region from 1989 to 1994.

Keskin affirmed "I am deeply saddened by the loss of our former Sisli Mayor, dear Fatma Girik."
