Central Bank of Turkey makes decision on key rate

The first meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Turkey in 2022 was held on Jan. 20, Trend reports.

Following the meeting, the Central Bank of Turkey kept the key rate (weekly REPO auction) at the level of 14 percent.

The Central Bank of Turkey lowered the key rate from 15 percent to 14 percent in December 2021.

After today's decision of the Central Bank, the US dollar exchange rate on the Turkish exchanges decreased by almost 0.5 percent and amounted to 13.25TL/1USD.
