Philippines, UAE, Saudi Arabia among countries moved to Red List in Qatar's latest travel policy update

Doha: MOPH has added more countries to the red list as it updates the Country Lists based on COVID-19 risk in its travel and Return Policy. Qatar has Green, Red and Exceptional Red list.
In the new update, which will come into effect on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at 7 pm, Lebanon, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kenya are added to the Red List. The Philippines, which was in the Exceptional Red List, has also been moved to the Red List.

The COVID-19 exceptional red list, that earlier included 16 countries, now lists nine countries - Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
As the omicron variant is spreading in many countries the number of Covid-19 cases reported all over the world has seen a major uptick. Even in Qatar last few days saw the cases spiking.
Green List that had 175 countries in it now has 159 (link )
There are 47 countries in the Red List, which had 23 earlier. (link )

Travellers coming from Red List countries are required to:
1- Conduct a PCR test with a negative result within (72) hours before arrival to Qatar (all age
groups).
2- Conduct a PCR test for citizens and residents within 36 hours of arriving in Qatar (all age group).
3- Visitors are required to undergo hotel quarantine for up to 2 days upon arrival in the country until a negative PCR result becomes available.
