Afghanistan - Pakistan fires artillery shells into Kunar's Sarkano district

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Pakistan has fired several artillery shells into different areas of eastern Kunar province recently, according local residents.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD), however, said Pakistan artillery attacks had been befittingly responded.

Pakistan periodically shelled some areas in Kuanr's Dangam, Shaltan, Sarkano and Marawar district that inflicted human and financial losses to people.

Malak Khan, the resident of Sarkano district, said Pakistan fired hundreds of rockets into Gunjgul Saparai, Garir Sar and Gulab Parai localities on Friday night.

“Pakistani forces has constructed military installations on the Garair height in Sarkano district and fired artillery shells from that point on us. Islamic Emirate forces also responded with artillery shelling.”

Ibrahim, the resident of Shaltan district, said after the takeover of Islamic Emirate Pakistani forces accelerated their attacks on Afghan soil and they fired hundreds of artillery shells in the morning and evening times in Chogam, Sono and Rodud areas.

Defence Ministry Spokesperson Enayatullah Khwarazmi told Radio Azadi that Pakistani forces attacks had been retaliated.
