KBAUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi has traveled to Islamabad to attend a meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.

MoFA tweeted that Muttaqi and the delegation accompanying him would attend the meeting, scheduled for Sunday in Pakistan's capital.

Waliullah Shaheen, director of the Centre for Strategic Studies at MoFA, said the meeting would focus on Afghanistan's financial situation, banking issues and normalisation of relations with the world.

“We, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have a stake in that,” he added.

Speaking to reports at the Kabul airport before his departure for Pakistan, the foreign minister called the OIC meeting important for Afghanistan.

“The Islamic Emirate would not allow anyone to use Afghanistan's soil against other countries,” Muttaqi said.
