Erdogan sends sincere best wishes for Jewish Hanukkah holiday


(MENAFN) Turkish leader sent his sincere best wishes for the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, and said that Turkish geography was home to different cultures since thousands of years.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated "Aware of the historical responsibility that this richness brings, we see it as one of our most important duties to stand against discrimination on the basis of language, religion, or race, and to ensure that all our citizens can live together freely and safely."

Erdogan as well stressed that when intolerance to different beliefs and identities in the world is increasing, Turkey faces every kind of discrimination and takes every important step to "properly fulfill this responsibility that history has imposed" on Turkey, adding "With these thoughts, I congratulate all Jews, especially our Jewish citizens, on the Hanukkah festival, and hope that this special day brings peace."
